چکیده

Vaccination is an essential component in controlling infectious bursal disease (IBD), however, there a lack of information on the genetic characteristics recent virus (IBDV) that was isolated from IBD vaccinated commercial flocks Malaysia. The present study investigated 11 IBDV isolates were poultry farms. detected using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) targeting hypervariable region (HVR) VP2. Based HVR sequences, five (IBS536/2017, IBS624/2017, UPM766/2018, UPM1056/2018, and UPM1432/2019) selected for whole-genome sequencing MiSeq platform. nucleotide amino acid (aa) sequences compared with previously characterized strains. Deduced aa VP2HVR revealed seven 94–99% identity to very virulent strains (genogroup 3), two 97–100% variant 2), 100% vaccine strain 1) IBDV. phylogenetic analysis also showed formed clusters respective genogroups. characteristic motifs 222T, 249K, 286I, 318D are typical observed UPM1219/2019 UPM1432/2019. In comparison, residues such as 222A, 249Q, 286T, 318G found vvIBDV, except UPM1056/2018 A222T substitution. addition, isolate has substitutions D213N, G254D, S315T, S317R, A321E not commonly reported vvIBDV Unlike other vvIBDVs this study, UPM766/2018 lacks MLSL VP5. tripeptides 145/146/147 (TDN) VP1 conserved while different motif, NED, Malaysian strain. tree clustered American Chinese viruses highly comparable novel variants, 99.9% identity. analyses, first identification being Further research required determine pathogenicity protective efficacy current vaccines used against virus.

Molecular characterization of infectious bronchitis viruses isolated from broiler flocks in Bushehr province, Iran: 2014 - 2015

The aim of this study was to provide information on the molecular characteristic and the phylogenic relationship of infectious bronchitis viruses (IBV) strains in Bushehr province in comparison to other strains reported in the Middle East. Samples were collected from broiler flocks in Bushehr province during 2014 - 2015. These flocks had respiratory problems such as gasping, sneezing and bronch...

Should Australian broilers be vaccinated against immunosuppressive infectious bursal disease viruses?

Although the pathogenicity of Australian field strains of IBD viruses is believed to be low, some variation in antigenicity has been demonstrated (Sapats and Ignjatovic 2000) associated with clinical disease due to IBD. Therefore, it was thought useful to broaden the IBD control measures available to the industry by evaluating the safety and efficacy of a classical serotype 1 vaccine strain of ...

Rapid differentiation between very virulent and classical infectious bursal disease viruses isolated in Iran by RT-PCR/REA

Abstract: This study was conducted to characterize infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) isolates collected from different parts of Iran during 2005-2006. Pooled bursal samples from 49 broiler and layer pullet flocks suspected to IBD infection were collected and processed. A reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR) procedure was used to amplify a VP2 gene fragment (743 bp) from...

Genetic and phylogenetic analysis of the ribonucleoprotein complex genes of H9N2 avian influenza viruses isolated from commercial poultry in Iran

BACKGROUND: The H9N2 subtype of avian influenzaviruses (AIVs) has been isolated in multiple avian species inmany European, Asian, African and American countries. Sincethe first outbreak of H9N2 virus in Iran in 1998, this virus haswidely circulated throughout the country, resulting in majoreconomic losses in chicken flocks. Several amino acids in thevirus ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complex includi...

Characterization of virulent Newcastle disease viruses from vaccinated chicken flocks in Eastern China

BACKGROUND Newcastle disease (ND) is one of the most contagious and devastating diseases to poultry in the world. The causative agents are virulent strains of Newcastle disease virus (NDV), which belong to the genus Avulavirus, sub-family Paramyxoviridae, family Paramyxovirinae. Knowing the genomic and antigenic characteristics of virulent NDVs might contribute to ND control in China. RESULTS...
